Halloween challenge

So for writing I'm working on technically three projects. Editing book 1 more. Writing another YA novel. Then finally working on a novella. I'm trying to focus more on the novella right now. Something in my gut is telling me that is what I need to focus on. Like what the novella is about will change my future. Sounds insane I know, right?
Other than that, its is finally fall! Well in Florida I guess there never really is a "real" fall. So I'm missing pumpkin picking, warm tea, picnics by apple tree's and sweaters. One day I'll move back up north and have a fall again. But for now its not in the cards.

Now on for today's blogs post. Today will be a challenge day for you readers. I challenge you to write a scary story without the use of popular culture spooks. These are like vampires, zombies, ghosts, demons, and banshees.

I would set the tone of the room you are writing in with spooky music from Pandora, or even watch a scary movie. Get your blood pumping. I went to a local haunted house to get my own blood pumping. So try it! And happy writing!!

To write

Working heavily on re-re-re-re-re-re-editing my 7th draft of my first book. Yes always trying to make it perfect...so I haven't been able to work on anything else. But I have found out many famous and wealthy authors that have been rejected for famous works. I believe that these rejections were simply because the book was new for that time period and agents and publishers were scared to take them on. But I believe that readers get bored of the same old novels and they need change. That's why I want to stay ahead of the change and write books that aren't around. Because you WILL get lost in the crowd. I don't think agents have caught on yet, if they have I haven't found them.
I go into a book store and I feel lost in all the same topic books because you do not know which one will be a better read for you.
So I suggest when you write test out your novel on different audiences. I let many different age groups test out my book. I was even told by a 17 year old boy that this is the first time he has ever wanted to read a book. I wish there were ways to prove to agents what your test audience has said. I've test my book on 50 year olds to 11 year olds and they love it. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong in a submission and I'm starting to run out of publishing agents.
My significant other has suggested writing a "commercial fiction" book to get my name out there then publishing my trilogy. I just have these dreams that my idea will be taken.

Keep writing and editing my friends....one day this dream of mine will become a reality.

Flashing Signs

Sometimes I feel like I need a large neon sign over my head flashing, "Author in need of Literary Representation"! Its a pity that they do not make those. But in any case. As you may have guessed I'm still on my journey to find a literary agent. Though I have been side tracked a bit lately, since I moved back into my parents house with my boyfriend because I'm still unemployed. I'm hoping that fate will change soon because I felt positive about a follow up call to a book store as well as a new Librarian technician job that popped up. So if I managed to get both those jobs to start digging my way out from student loans, then writing my new book at night or re-editing book 2 and 3 in my trilogy I believe I will be on track to setting the main goal in my life, which is of course to get published.

But here is a neat photo I found on Pinterest that sums up my life,

A new move

Sorry it has been awhile since a post. I have recently moved to Florida and I have been trying to search for a source of income. I'm hoping that once I have a set schedule I will be able to write here and my new book on a regular basis while continuing to look for an agent for my trilogy. I'm hoping this new scenery will be what I need to get the ball rolling while looking for Master programs.

Fandoms

How does a book or show or even a movie become a fandom? well I have yet to find out and when I do, you'll be the first to know. I think there are multiple elements. lovable and hate able characters. A rich story line with morals and believability. but something that is out there. A story we all wish was real. we want to feel the characters.
but also, fan-fiction helps. and commercialism and toys.
